You are what you eat.  We’ve all heard that saying throughout our lives.  A lot of us pay no attention to it as we down our 20oz bottle of Coke and finish off that bag of Doritos.  It’s a fast-paced society we live in.  When we have food and drink available fast, with no preparation needed, we jump on it.  I’m guilty of this, and if you’re reading this you probably are too.

I had various stints in the past where I stopped eating bad stuff and went completely straight edge.  Those stints, at best, only ever lasted 3 weeks until I fell back into my bad habits.  I also dated a vegetarian for four years, which made me curious to give that lifestyle a try.  For the last 2 years of that relationship I was a vegetarian.  I did notice a few improvements in my body, but overall I had less energy.  When that relationship ended I went back to eating meat.  It was kind of a way of getting over her now that I look back on it.

Fast-forward almost 4 years and now I’m about 10lbs overweight.  I’m 6ft tall and around 180lbs.  I’m definitely not fat, but I’m not as lean as I used to be.  I also find myself having less energy than I used to.  It’s time to change that.  In future posts I’ll be going into more detail on how we are going achieve our goal.  For now I’m going to break it down into the easiest things you can do to improve your mind and body.

  • Try to eat healthy.
  • Drink more water.

Pretty simple huh?  Well, I said I was going to go into more detail in the future.  This doesn’t even include exercise.
